In a bid to strengthen institutional performance and improve service delivery, the Human Resource Department of the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Mrs. Scholastica A. Awine, organized a capacity building training for staff of the Assembly.
The workshop, held at the Assembly Hall, focused on key thematic areas including the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), Local Government Service Protocols, Assembly Bye-Laws, and the Client Service Charter.
Mrs. Scholastica Awine, who opened the session, led the first presentation on the Local Governance Act (Act 936) and the Local Government Service Protocols. Her presentation highlighted the legal and administrative framework that governs the conduct of staff and operational structures within the local government system.
Following her session, Mr. Joseph Kramper, Head of the Municipal Environmental Department, took participants through the Assembly’s Bye-Laws, emphasizing their relevance in maintaining order, environmental sustainability, and local compliance.
The final presentation was delivered by Mrs. Efya Akyemah Koree, lead officer of the Client Service Unit, who sensitized staff on the Client Service Charter, a key document that outlines service expectations, staff conduct, and accountability measures when engaging with the public.
The training provided a platform for staff to ask questions, clarify responsibilities, and recommit to the Assembly’s mission of delivering efficient and responsive local governance.
Speaking after the event, Mrs. Awine commended all staff for their participation and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained in their daily operations. “Continuous learning is the backbone of public sector excellence. We are building a culture of professionalism and accountability at all levels of the Assembly,” she said.
