05/10/2023: In a proactive move aimed at improving the cleanliness and environmental health of the community, the management of Nsawam Adoagyiri Assembly took decisive action to clear a significant heap of refuse situated near the Agric Department Office Building. The operation, carried out yesterday, was executed under the vigilant supervision of the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit and the Procurement Unit of the Assembly.

The efficient and well-coordinated efforts of these units led to the successful completion of the task, leaving the area visibly cleaner and free from the unsightly refuse pile that had been a concern for the community.

Nevertheless, recognizing the need for a more sustainable solution, the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, in collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, is actively working to provide the community with a communal refuse container. This container will serve as an alternative disposal point, preventing residents from dumping their waste in inappropriate locations.

The proposed location for the communal refuse container is the public toilet facility in the vicinity. This strategic placement not only ensures easy access for residents but also addresses the health concerns associated with the previous dumping site, which was situated in the heart of the town.

The Nsawam Adoagyiri Assembly’s proactive approach to waste management demonstrates its commitment to fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for the community’s residents. This initiative not only tackles the immediate issue of refuse disposal but also paves the way for a more sustainable and hygienic waste management system for years to come.
