The Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly has officially commenced the construction of a modern 24-Hour Economy Market, marking a significant step towards improving commercial infrastructure and stimulating economic activity within the Municipality.

The sod-cutting ceremony, held in Nsawam, was attended by the Adontenhene, His Royal Majesty Otubuor Gyan Kwesi II, Nsawamhene and Dobrohene, as well as other traditional leaders and stakeholders within the Municipality.

The project is expected to provide a modern, secure and well-planned trading environment that will enhance commercial activities, support local businesses and create opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment.

The 24-Hour Economy Market will comprise a range of facilities designed to meet the diverse needs of traders, residents and visitors. These will include shops and stores for traders, a police post, fire service post, crèche, restaurant, resting centre, bus terminal, clinic, pharmacy and other supporting facilities.

Upon completion, the project is expected to strengthen Nsawam Adoagyiri’s position as an important commercial centre and gateway, while contributing to improved livelihoods and local economic development.

Construction of the market is scheduled for completion within 24 months. The facility is also expected to provide a more organised trading environment, improve safety and convenience for traders and customers, and promote the growth of businesses within the Municipality.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Municipal authorities expressed appreciation to the traditional leadership and other stakeholders for their support towards the project.

The Assembly also encouraged traders, residents and other stakeholders to support and protect the facility, noting that the success of the project will depend on the collective commitment of the community.

The commencement of construction represents an important milestone in the Municipality’s efforts to expand commercial infrastructure, promote economic activity and create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
