The Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly has taken steps to empower persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the municipality. Through the Social Welfare Department and the PWD Secretariat, the Assembly recently distributed deep freezers, packs and bags of water, and assorted soft drinks to PWDs to help them start small businesses and generate income.

Funded from the District Assembly Common Fund, the initiative is aimed at promoting economic empowerment and independence for PWDs, equipping them with tools to participate actively in the local economy.

Speaking on behalf of PWDs, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Philibert Selorm Fummey, expressed gratitude to President H.E. John Dramani Mahama for supporting persons with disabilities through the Resetting Agenda.
