NSAWAM ADOAGYIRI MCE DEPLOYS TASKFORCE TO ASSIST CHILDREN IN CROSSING BUSY STREETS

In a move aimed at enhancing the safety of residents, particularly school children, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nsawam Adoagyiri, Hon. Philibert Selorm Fummey, has directed the Municipal Taskforce to serve as traffic wardens at key junctions within the municipality.

The initiative comes in response to increasing concerns over the disregard of traffic regulations and road safety signs by some motorists, especially in high-risk areas such as the SDA Junction and Fire Service Junction. These locations are known to be heavily frequented by school children during peak hours.

“As part of ongoing efforts to maintain the safety of our residents, especially children and students, I have instructed the Municipal Taskforce to take up the role of traffic wardens and support children in safely crossing the streets,” Hon. Fummey announced.

He further appealed to all drivers and motorcyclists in Nsawam and surrounding areas to strictly adhere to road safety rules and traffic regulations. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure a safe environment for every resident. I urge all road users to drive responsibly and respect pedestrian rights, especially at crossings near schools,” he said.

The Municipal Assembly hopes the presence of uniformed taskforce members at critical points will serve as both a protective measure and a deterrent to reckless driving.

This intervention is part of a broader strategy by the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly to improve road safety and reduce pedestrian-related incidents within the municipality.
