On Monday, May 12, 2025, a significant event unfolded at the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly Hall as dignitaries gathered for the election and confirmation of the President’s nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality. Among the distinguished guests were the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey; Member of Parliament, Hon. Frank Annor Dompreh; Heads of Security Agencies, Magistrate of the Nsawam District Court, Her Worship Juliana S. P. Mensah; Chiefs, Assembly Members, and other Stakeholders.

Before the commencement of the election, the Magistrate of the Nsawam Adoagyiri District Court, Her Worship Juliana S. P. Mensah, officiated the swearing-in of thirteen government appointees. The ceremony marked an important step in the local governance process, as the appointees took the oath of office, oath of allegiance and oath of secrecy, pledging to serve with integrity and dedication.

The election then commenced and by majority decision, the MCE nominee, Hon. Fummey Philibert Amenorpe (Selorm), was officially confirmed and sworn in as the Municipal Chief Executive of Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality. Hon. Fummey Philibert Amenorpe (Selorm) garnered an impressive 29 votes, representing 70% of the 42 valid votes cast.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for the nomination, the Eastern Regional Minister for her support, and the Honorable Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him through their votes. He pledged to work in unity with all stakeholders to advance the development agenda of the municipality and concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serve with humility, dedication, and a strong sense of duty to improve the lives of the people within the Municipality.

In the absence of any further deliberations, the programme came to a successful end.
