On June 12, 2023, a powerful demonstration of community solidarity unfolded as the Social Welfare and Community Development Department of the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly, together with the Ghana Education Service, Ghana Police Service, students from selected schools, and various dignitaries, marched to mark the celebration of World Day Against Child Labour. The impactful event, organized by the Social Welfare and Community Development Department, aimed to raise awareness and advocate for the elimination of child labor in the municipality.

Under the banner of unity, participants embarked on a march that traversed various corners of the municipality, symbolizing their collective commitment to addressing the critical issue of child labor. Students from selected schools joined the cause, adding youthful energy and enthusiasm to the procession.

Before the march commenced, a brief ceremony was held to acknowledge the significance of the occasion. The Coordinating Director of the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly commended the collaborative effort and dedication of all participants. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of raising awareness about child labor and emphasized the need for continuous efforts to eradicate this social menace.

The Head of the Social Welfare and Community Development Department, speaking at the ceremony, expressed gratitude for the collective commitment shown by everyone involved. She underscored the department’s dedication to protecting the rights of children and ensuring their well-being, free from exploitation.

Various dignitaries, including representatives from the Ghana Education Service and Ghana Police Service, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of education and law enforcement in combating child labor. Their presence highlighted the multi-sectoral approach required to address the root causes of this issue.
