COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AT KWESIKROM, KWAME-BOAFO, AND APRAMUSOKROM

The Municipal Chief Executive of Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly, Hon. Isaac K. Buabeng, embarked on a community engagement visit to Kwesikrom, Kwame-Boafo, and Apramusokrom in Djankrom West Electoral Area. During the visit, the MCE sought to understand the challenges faced by these communities and provide viable solutions.

Hon. Buabeng, accompanied by his entourage, first visited Kwesikrom, where the Assemblyman extended a warm welcome and introduced the community members. The MCE then addressed the gathering, conveying greetings from President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo and expressing appreciation for their presence.

The purpose of the MCE’s visit was to fulfill his yearly mandate of assessing the state of affairs and creating a platform for the community to voice their concerns. A representative of the Physical Planning Department emphasized the importance of obtaining proper permits for structures and informed the community about an ongoing layout project.

During the engagement, community members raised various challenges, including the need for road improvements, access to loans for women, clarity on responsibilities for road construction between the MCE and the Member of Parliament (MP), completion of public toilet facilities, extension of electricity and meters to nearby communities, establishment of a community center, and provision of scholarships for children.

In response, Hon. Buabeng assured the community that road construction projects had been awarded and would be addressed soon. He explained that road construction involved collaborative efforts between the Assembly, which budgets and lobbies for the projects, and the central government, which executes the construction. The MP also plays a role in advocating for road projects at the parliamentary level.

The MCE encouraged the community to engage in self-help projects while awaiting the availability of contractors. He advised them to submit formal requests through the Assembly for the extension of electricity and meters. Hon. Buabeng also informed the community about the availability of agricultural tools and the government’s scholarship program for university students, encouraging them to apply and choose Nsawam as their interview center.

The community expressed their gratitude for the MCE’s visit and requested future interactions. The engagement demonstrated the commitment of the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly to address community concerns and work collaboratively towards finding solutions.
