The Centre for Planning and Development of Social Services (ZPE), University of Siegen, (Germany) in collaboration with the Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Suhum Municipal Assemblies organized a two-day workshop in Nsawam on September 29-30, 2022. The aim of the workshop was to co-create practical suggestions that are compatible with local structures for more innovative ways of improving communication between the Municipal Assembly and community members through Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The two-day workshop was attended by the;

- Social welfare and Community Development officer
- Development Planning officer
- Municipal ICT coordinator
- Municipal Health officer
- Municipal LEAP coordinator/Disability common fund desk officer
- CSOs (Community-Based Civil Society Organizations)
- Ghana Federation of Disability (GFD)
The workshop was part of the development phase of a research project – Facilitating the interaction between citizens and local governments through information and communication technology – FACIL-ICT-Ghana (https://www.facil-ict.com/). The project seeks to promote the use of ICTs to enhance civic participation in the decision-making process and public service delivery at the local level.
The research and development of the project is funded by Engagement Global-NRW and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Centre for Planning and Development of Social Services (ZPE), University of Siegen, (Germany). The team of researchers from the University of Siegen, Germany included Dr. Paul Kwaku Larbi Anderson, Prof. Johannes Schädler, Lars Wissenbach, and Sandra Ahiataku.
