PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN NSAWAM ADOAGYIRI MUNICIPALITY CALL FOR GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

On the 4th of March, 2024, a significant event unfolded at the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly forecourt as representatives from various private schools united to present a crucial petition to the government through the municipal assembly. The purpose of this gathering was to shed light on the urgent needs of private educational institutions and stress their pivotal role as collaborators rather than competitors in the education sector.

The spokesperson for the private schools association highlighted the essential partnership between private schools and the government in ensuring quality education for all children in the municipality. The petition emphasized the necessity for the government to pay close attention to the distinct challenges faced by private schools, which differ from those encountered by public institutions. There was a strong call for policymakers to take into account the concerns and contributions of private schools when formulating educational policies and initiatives.

The petition was received by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Jeremiah Agyekum Amaofo, alongside the Municipal Finance Officer, Mrs. Rebecca Achia, representing the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Emmanuel Owusu Arthur, who was unable to attend at that moment.

In his address to the representatives, the Municipal Coordinating Director acknowledged their concerns and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting them. He emphasized the indispensable role of private schools as partners in education and pledged, on behalf of the MCE, to collaborate closely with stakeholders to find viable solutions to their challenges.

The event marked a significant step in highlighting the vital contributions of private schools to the educational landscape and the need for collaborative efforts between the government and private institutions to ensure quality education for all students in Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality.
