The Municipal Education Directorate organized a Reading Competition Festival for basic school pupils on Friday, 30th January 2026, at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Nsawam. The event aimed to promote literacy and build a strong reading culture among young learners.
The programme was chaired by Nana Kwabena Ansah I, Chief of Nsawam, who encouraged pupils to take their education seriously. The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Philibert Fummey Amenorpe, urged students to embrace reading as a passion, highlighting its role in improving knowledge, confidence, and communication skills.
Pupils from various schools displayed enthusiasm and impressive reading abilities, while education officials, teachers, parents, and community members showed strong support for the initiative.
The festival concluded successfully, inspiring both students and the community to continue promoting literacy across the municipality.
