The Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality held its 66th Independece day celebration at Ahwerase Darmang Astroturf. On the theme, “Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose”.
The colourful ceremony was well attended by the MP, MCE, Coordinating Diector, Service Commanders, service personnel, pupils and teachers, chiefs and the general public.
The MCE, Hon Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng, reading the President’s Anniversary speech, reiterated government’s commitment to restore the country back to its glory. He said government is putting in much more effort to find solution to the current economic situation the country is facing. He appealed to all Ghanaians to support government’s effort in achieving a common goal.
The Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency and Majority Chief Whip, Hon Frank Annoh Dompreh charged the youth to support his dream in making Nsawam Adoagyiri one of the best in terms of infrastructural development. He was proud to mention that his office in February this year honoured and rewarded 76 BECE students who excelled with single digit grades (aggregate 6 to 9). These students were presented with laptops, other educational materials and cash each. He promised to continue this award scheme to be a form of motivation for these students to strive for excellence. Hon Annoh Dompreh also promised that plans are far advanced to institute an award scheme for teachers and service personnel in the constituency coming October.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Samuel Ntow Otopah appealed to patents and guardians to support their children’s education since the future of our country depends on them. He asked the youth especially to make the words in ‘Yɛn Ara Y’asase ni’ guide their every action towards the Ghana we all wish for.
