On March 20, 2024, the Agriculture Department of the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly carried out its routine inspection of farmlands, visiting the community of Darkuman. The inspection covered a variety of farms and included a focused assessment of challenges faced by a local poultry farmer in the area.
Officials inspected crop farms to evaluate their productivity, farming techniques, and overall crop health, offering guidance on improving yields, managing water resources, and addressing common agricultural issues like pests and soil erosion. However, the visit also highlighted specific challenges confronting a poultry farmer in Darkuman, where the department assessed operational difficulties such as livestock management, feed supply, and disease control.
“This inspection goes beyond just crops, it’s about understanding the unique challenges that all farmers, including those in poultry, are facing. Our aim is to provide the necessary support and solutions to improve production across the board,” said a representative from the Agriculture Department.
The Agriculture Department plans to continue inspections and assessments across other communities in the Nsawam Adoagyiri municipality, offering expert advice and addressing challenges to ensure all sectors of local agriculture can thrive.
